A computer can never be guaranteed to be in a perfect state of operation , because there is an environment of changes and signals coming from users , locally and across the network. But if you want to be sure that the system is operating basically correctly minute by minute, then you need to be willing to observe and repair the system on the same timescale of at least every few minutes.
