"[T]he world makes a lot more sense if you switch to thinking in terms of promises." #readingToday

Does the idea of promises really make sense? It is too human an idea? Some of the benefits of a promise viewpoint are not immediately obvious until you start to think in a promise manner. Culturally, we have been conditioned to think in terms of laws, rules and obligations, which are also human notions. However, the world makes a lot more sense if you switch to thinking in terms of promises. Promises allow us to pull systems apart and put them back together again, without losing sight of their intended behaviour.
