"If this sweep of history has any lesson, it must be that answers lie in distributed autonomy." #readingToday

Second wave models for managing technological infrastructure will be superceded soon enough , as they become overwhelmed by scale and complexity. The question is: what will replace them? If this chapter's lightening sweep of history has any lesson, it must be that answers lie in distributed autonomy, in embedding self-stabilizing infrastructure everywhere. The CFEngine project was my own strategy for addressing this, and only time will tell if it can be successful.
